Alexander Lakin is a freelance cinematographer living in Chicago, IL. Lakin studied at Loyola University Chicago through their International Film & Media Production program. He was called to pursue cinematography after completing a lighting assignment based on Tomas Alfredson's "Let the Right One In" (2008).
After graduation, Lakin pushed into Chicago's independent film community by working as an AC and grip on feature films, narrative shorts, and spec commercials. As DP, he collaborates with local Chicago filmmakers and rental houses to tell valuable and enriching stories using a strong sense of lighting and framing.
In his free time Lakin enjoys travel, coloring old projects, and petting dogs.
